From global journalism to energy transition to operations engineering, I’ve been guided by a simple instinct: that divides can be bridged and horizons broadened. Based out of New York City, I’m building a creative practice while exploring the intersection of data and global development.
I recently graduated from the University of Michigan with an MBA and an MS in Environment and Sustainability, where I explored how analytical and operational tools can drive sustainable growth. I was a Tauber Institute for Global Operations Fellow and previously served on the board of the Energy Club at the Ross School of Business. My recent work includes data modeling and product strategy at Enact Solar and advising Tata Steel on global growth initiatives.
Prior to Michigan, I was an award-winning journalist focused on Chinese investment and energy transition in Global South countries, breaking underreported stories for the English- and Chinese-speaking worlds. My reporting on Asia’s frontier and emerging economies sparked vigorous discussions. My work was published by the South China Morning Post, The People’s Map of Global China, Phoenix Weekly, Energy Observer (China), and Caijing Magazine, among others.
My independent work from 2020 to 2023 was dedicated to advancing the global coverage of Asian developing countries’ race toward climate and other development goals. I won a Vivian Wu Journalism Award in International Reporting for Myanmar coup stories published in The Reporter in 2021 and the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue Media Fellows Competition hosted by the German Agency for International Cooperation in 2020 for a trilingual reporting project concept on Indonesia’s clean energy transition.
From 2017 to 2019, I was the Business Editor-in-Chief of Globus at Caixin Media. Based out of Beijing, I led a team of reporters to spearhead the coverage of Chinese overseas business, secured exclusive interviews with foreign statesmen, and conducted extensive fieldwork on projects under China’s Belt and Road initiative. I hold a Master of Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Hong Kong, and speak English and Mandarin.
